About The Process

The dentist will first determine whether you are a candidate for Invisalign^®. If so, he or she will typically take various photographs of your face and teeth, as well as x-rays and impressions that will be used to produce a computer simulation (using Invisalign^®‘s ClinCheck) of the anticipated repositioning. The mockup is adjusted as necessary on the computer, and with this image, you’ll be able to see what your teeth can look like after your treatment. It’s pretty cool!

Once you are happy with the simulation, it will be used to construct a series of plastic aligners. Each set of aligners should be worn for about two weeks until a new set of aligners is required, and this process will generally repeat until the ideal tooth positioning has been achieved. Retainers will be used for a period of time after treatment to ensure that the teeth don’t move from their new positions.
